Edward's stats are given by Anita in the first book, Guilty Pleasures. He is 5'8" with a slender build, and it is a given that he keeps in
good shape. He has short blond hair that is neatly cut and pale blue eyes that can sparkle one moment and become expressionless the next.
Anita has seen these eyes warm up, and she has seen them become dead and cold. She describes Edward's physical appearance as "the epitome of WASP breeding." Edward is known simply as "Death" by the non-human folk, and he is also known as "The Undertaker."
Edward is currently a bounty hunter; you pay him, he kills it. Simple as that. He's a mastermind when it comes to spying, hunting, and killing. He is extremely careful and is not one to overlook any detail, big or small. He'll go to whatever means neccessary to get the job done. There are no limits. Part of the reason why he's so good at what he does is that he doesn't seem to have a conscience. This makes him a valuable yet dangerous ally to Anita.
Edward is an expert at masking his thoughts and feelings. He has different sides of himself, so to speak. Anita points out that Edward can be very charming and a "good ol' boy." He can hide whatever he's feeling/thinking exceptionally well, so well that it drives
Anita crazy at times. It's the same deal when he speaks; he tends to keep his voice flat and impassive. Nothing is given away.
Not only is Edward good at hiding; he's good at acting. He turns up the charm when trying to get information, flashing the occaisional brilliant smile. He is so good at being complete opposites that it's practically impossible to determine who the REAL Edward is. Anita is one of the very few that knows about Edward and "Ted" (for more info on Ted, go here).
Nothing is known much about Edward's past. As Anita says early on, he started out as a hit man. The only clue to his past that has been revealed is his connection with a man known as Van Cleef. Supposedly, Edward was trained by Van Cleef, but parted ways with him some years back. Edward will not reveal any info on the subject.
